PRECAUTIONS
Before using the product, please keep the following in mind:
- Patch Test: If you have sensitive skin or are prone to allergies, perform a patch test on your inner arm before applying the product to your lips.
- Avoid Contact with Eyes: Be careful not to get the product in your eyes. If contact occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
- Do Not Use on Broken Skin: Discontinue use if your lips are chapped, cracked, irritated, or have any open sores.
- Check for Irritation: A slight tingling sensation upon application can be normal due to the quick-drying solvents. However, if you experience significant itching, redness, or swelling, remove the product immediately and discontinue use.
- Hygiene: Keep the applicator and product container clean. Do not share your lip product with others to prevent the spread of bacteria.
- Storage: Store in a dry, well-ventilated environment at room temperature. Avoid direct heat and light. Keep out of reach of children.
HOW TO APPLY (For a Flawless Finish)
The key to a perfect matte lip is preparation and technique. Follow these steps:
Step 1: Prep Your Lips (The Most Important Step)
- Exfoliate Gently: Once or twice a week, use a soft toothbrush or a lip scrub to gently buff away dry, flaky skin. This creates a smooth canvas.
- Hydrate and Prime: Before starting your makeup, apply a lightweight lip balm. Let it sink in for a few minutes. Right before applying the lip cream, gently blot away any excess balm with a tissue. Your lips should be moisturized but not greasy.
Step 2: Apply the Lip Cream
- Start with an Outline: Using the precise doe-foot applicator, start from the center of your cupid's bow and outline your lips, working outwards to the corners.
- Fill In the Color: Fill in the rest of your lips with the product. Apply a thin, even first layer. Do not rub your lips together at this stage, as the formula is setting.
Step 3: Let it Set
- Wait about 30-60 seconds for the first layer to dry down completely to a matte finish. You will feel it become non-tacky.
Step 4: Build Intensity (Optional)
- For a more intense, long-lasting color, you can apply a second thin layer after the first has fully set. This method prevents the product from feeling thick or clumping in lip lines.
Step 5: Perfect the Edges
- For a sharp, clean look, you can use a pointed concealer brush or a cotton swab dipped in micellar water to clean up the edges.
HOW TO REMOVE
Because this is a long-wearing, transfer-resistant formula, a regular makeup wipe may not be enough.
- Use an Oil-Based Remover: The most effective way to remove it completely without rubbing is to use a dedicated eye-and-lip makeup remover (biphasic type) or a cleansing oil/balm. Gently press the saturated cotton pad on your lips for a few seconds to dissolve the product, then wipe away easily.
By following these steps, you can enjoy the full, comfortable, and long-lasting benefits of the REC Air Matte Non-Stick Lip Cream.
